Shortcuts into the future
With the theme of 'Shortcuts into the future', the 2004 Shortcuts International Reseller and Distributor Conference kicked off on October 20 in London. The three day conference hosted by Shortcuts Australia pooled resellers and distributors from Greece, Portugal, France, United States of America, United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates.
The gathering re-inspired the
international network as
Australian department heads revealed their initiatives to take salon management further into the future. Accompanying the presentations was the announcement of the accumulation of Shortcuts' two largest distributors - MJB Applications (UK) and Performance Inc (US) by Shortcuts Australia, taking a small Australian company and transforming it into a truly international one. A workshop-style approach was led into on days two and three following the themes of 'working together' and 'success' respectively.
The general vibe among the group was evident; Shortcuts is something big, perhaps bigger than anyone could have expected from this small Brisbane start-up company formed just ten years ago. Not only that but it's the people that make this company. Jo Burgess, education manager and original hairdresser behind the design of Shortcuts claims, "Shortcuts is a magnet for fantastic people". In a world full of technology and non-personal communication, the conference provided a face-to-face opportunity for the whole Shortcuts team, truly proving the dream is alive and Shortcuts has what it takes to make it a reality.
As the conference came to an end on the Friday night, the team turned their attention to Salon International - the largest trade show in the world for the hair and beauty industry.
