A Star is born

Among the likes of Billabong and Microsoft, Shortcuts Salon and Spa is the latest company to have a staff member profiled in Queensland University of Technology’s ‘university for the real world’ television commercials.

Of the thousands of students who graduate each year from QUT, Shortcuts enterprise product manager Sandra Vaughan is the new star of the QUT commercials airing in Brisbane.

The television commercial is a huge boost for not only QUT but for Ms Vaughan and Shortcuts, with the commercial raising the profile of the company and its new found television personality.

The Shortcuts team feels particularly honoured that one of their own is the feature of a commercial, as recent commercials have included graduates now working around the globe for Microsoft and Billabong, just to name a few.

Ms Vaughan said the shooting of the commercial was an experience, involving a trip to Paris and New York, but something she is not going to leave her dream job for.

"No there’s definitely no chance I am going to leave my job and pursue a career in television."

"At the moment I am content to stay put and enjoy the ride at Shortcuts" said Ms Vaughan.
