The shortcut to small business success
At the salubrious Brisbane Hilton Hotel on Tuesday evening the 2004 Telstra and Queensland Government Small Business Awards night was held, among the finalists was Brisbane’s own born and bred Shortcuts Software (who develop an award winning Salon & Spa management system) awaiting their name to be called as a winner.
The awards aim to put the spotlight on some of the states most successful small business, celebrating the diversity, quality and ingenuity of Queensland’s small business sector with the overall winner competing against the rest of Australia at the national awards.
The Shortcuts team had an impressive awards application for the Panasonic Australia Business Award section, however 2004 was not their year as they were beaten by Shieldcoat.
Telstra’s Business and Government managing director, Christine Holgate said the business awards were primarily concerned with recognising the pivotal role of small business throughout Queensland.
"We are delighted to be able to hold the awards to celebrate the achievements of our small business community, particularly the finalists and winners" said Ms Holgate.
Shortcuts chief executive officer, Jason Seed said the Shortcuts team look forward to more accolades next year, following the planned product releases that are dedicated to the hair, beauty and spa markets.
"As this was the first year we applied, we are very satisfied as being selected as finalists out of the countless applications. "
"Next year we’ll be putting a great deal more effort into winning such prestigious awards. Watch this space", said Mr Seed.
