A Kut above the Rest

The doors of Klass Kutters open to a salon evoking all of your senses with funky tunes, a delicious coffee aroma and vibrant tangerine walls. The overall amiable personality of Klass Kutters is what owner Sam Le Favi has strived for since he opened for business ten years ago with then business partner Sam Rizzo. However, Rizzo has since relocated and opened a salon in Queensland’s Mooloolaba, leaving Sam as the sole business owner, a challenge he says continues to motivate him.

“It has certainly been harder to balance having taken on full ownership of the salon but it’s also rewarding in so many ways. Seeing a client walk away totally satisfied with all aspects of the service just makes my day.

“ Every business journey has its ups and downs but I try to embrace every challenge which continues to make the business stronger,” says Sam.

One of the main challenges Sam faces is the intense competition in the area which boasts fourteen other up-market salons compared to four just one year ago. But Klass Kutters maintains an ever-conquering competitive edge- unyielding customer service. The friendly, genuine staff pride themselves on quality work and customer satisfaction is a priority. A client will never wait longer than ten minutes, thanks to their courtesy call policy. Steaming cappuccinos and scrumptious biscuits provide the finishing touch to an all-round delightful experience to which Sam accredits their
outstanding customer return rate.

“Once we get a client in the first time, we get them in every time,” he adds.

Sam’s unique Prestige Recognition Program is just another way Klass Kutters preserves its competitive edge and exceptional approach to customer satisfaction and loyalty. The program rewards clients for referrals and recommendations which expands the business and allows Klass Kutters to maintain and broaden its quality services. The program is based on a silver, gold, platinum and diamond membership scheme with rewards ranging from discounts, to gift packs, to luxury dinners and weekends away.

Throughout the foundation years, Shortcuts played an important role in establishing a strong client base and attracting potential clients through birthday promotions and a new client letter system. Now, approaching its eleventh year of business, Klass Kutters continues to rely on Shortcuts to facilitate easy customer service and have recently updated the hardware to stay on top of things. The system allows them to acknowledge client birthdays with a little tag so everyone can offer them birthday wishes. Birthday clients are offered a scalp massage, a discount and a little ‘birthday box’ sticker on the mirror so they feel a bit special.

Watching Sam sit back on the couch with one of his clients, listening tentatively to feedback and how the style worked into their lifestyle, it becomes obvious how Klass Kutters has upheld its reputation and thriving success over the past ten years. And Sam couldn’t look happier himself.

"It's all about attitude," he says. "I'm passionate about my business and I think that outlook is absorbed by my clients. I am inspired by the changes
I see in the lives of my staff and clients through being a part of Klass Kutters."

With his life motto, 'enjoy it, or get out of it', there's no doubt Sam Le Favi will take Klass Kutters to even greater heights.
