The Ultimate Experience

The spa occupies the site of former Gold Coast icon the Pink Poodle but there
is
nothing reminiscent about the site’s former life. Wings Day Spa is like
no other, it’s the only exclusive women’s, six star day spa and anti-ageing
centre on the Gold Coast. But the thing about Wings is it’s not the day
spa you conjure in your mind with vischy showers and pamper packages, it is your
new sanctuary.
The spa is warm and welcoming with the reception area splashed with chocolates,
creams and marble and a giant plasma screen for
soothing viewing. The treatment rooms are similar with warm tones throughout.
Yes Wings does provide traditional beauty/spa services but it’s what
else Wings provides that makes it a life changing experience.
Wings offers women the
opportunity to reinvent themselves with personal trainers, naturopaths, dietary
consultants, beauty therapists and life coaches on hand. Wings is a membership
based club and members are treated to a potentially life changing experience.

Almost a month later we were back at Wings on a not quite believable cold
Queensland day. When we walked in the plasma screen in the lounge area had
a fire roaring which made us feel instantly warmer. After filling on our client
information cards Jessica was lead in for a skin analysis and hydrating facial
and I was lead up the stairs for my one hour consultation with a
naturopath.
Not being new to seeing a
naturopath I though I knew what I was in for, but the experience I had was
completely different. The
naturopath took a small sample of my blood and put it under a
microscope, and then they started telling me all about my body, all of which
was so accurate even down to the fact I had had a milky
breakfast (banana smoothie). The naturopath then began to perform kinesiology
on my body to help find out what my body needed and it was my body not the
naturopath that prescribed the two supplements I am now taking and the detox
program I have been on for the last two weeks. So after walking out of their
office I went back down stairs and sat in front of the fire on the plasma screen
and began reading through my blood type diet.
A couple of minutes later I was shown into one of the softly lit
treatment rooms for a skin analysis. Once my beauty therapist decided what
would be best for me, an
aromatherapy facial, I was shown into the bathroom where I was given a locker
and robe,
something which added to the
pampering experience. The facial was wonderful, I didn’t want it to end
but I was told to wait until I was ready to get up and get changed.
The experience I had at Wings was like nothing else, they provided a haven
I didn’t want to leave. It was the little things they provide like the
robes rather than the normal gown that added to the special feeling. But perhaps
the best thing they
provided me with is support. When I was waiting to have my facial the naturopath
sat down with me and asked me if I had any questions and said to call if I
needed anything or just some support, which was
amazing gesture of the caring atmosphere at Wings.
And that support did come in handy as four days into my detox I was surrounded
my temptation at a party and I starting thinking about how delicious the BBQ
looked and the wine in the cooler buckets so I called Wings just
to see if I could have one drink. I was told ‘no don’t do it,
think of the bigger picture’ and that was all the motivation and support
I needed. It’s all of these
little things that make Wings, the ultimate experience.
