Problem: When backing up to a Zip Disk, it comes up saying that the backup is completed but then starts to write to the disk, if the disk is removed an exception error with a blue screen will appear?
Solution: Shortcuts zips the file up then starts writing to the disk just seconds before the "Backup Complete" message comes up.
When to remove the disk from the drive:
When the light stops flashing on the front of the ZIP drive. Usually the drive won’t let you eject the disk until it has finished, unless you hold down the eject button for a long time. This is purely a hardware thing so there are no settings related that can be changed.
Note: There may also be a problem with either the disk (Try a different Zip disk.) or the drive or both, but that’s only if it never actually finishes writing.
