Clients running Shortcuts 2003se 93 – will have no problem backing up onto a memory stick. You just need to plug the device in and Shortcuts will detect the backup drive and list it in the backup drop down box. Clients running below this version need to make the change manually in the registry, or upgrade to the latest version.

Making the change in the Registry

1. Hit the Windows Start button (or hold down Ctrl and press Esc on your keyboard)
2. Select Run
3. Type Regedit
4. Select HKey_Local_Machine
5. Select Software
6. Select Shortcuts
7. Select General
8. Double Click Backup Location and enter the backup drive that represents the USB key.
