• Restoring a backup file will overwrite your current information in Shortcuts with the information from the backup file.
• When restoring a backup file you need to ensure that the backup file is restored into the same version of Shortcuts. For example a Shortcuts 2003 version 73 backup file can only be restored into a system running Shortcuts 2003 version 73.
1. To Restore a Backup you must first exit Shortcuts on all computers and then open Workshop.
2. Hit the Windows Start Button - Select Programs – Select Shortcuts Software – Select Shortcuts Workshop If the Start button is not visible, press CTRL-ESC at the same time or the Flying Window key on the keyboard to get the start menu on the screen.
3. Place the Backup disk into the appropriate drive.
4. Click the Restore button. The Restore Backup window will appear asking “Are you sure you want to continue restoring this backup?” Click the Yes button to continue or the No button to cancel your request to Restore a Backup. The Open window will appear.
5. Select the backup file you want to restore (each backup file is saved using the date of the backup (dd/mm/yy) as the file name (e.g. SC100301-10.zip).
6. Click the Open button. The Choose Restore Location window will appear with the available Shortcuts databases.
7. Select the relevant file path and click the OK button. A message box will appear asking are you sure? Click the Yes button to proceed or the No button to cancel the request.
8. Wait and be patient. It may take some time for the Restore to finish. When the Restore is finished a window will appear telling you that the Restore has been completed.
9. Click the OK button.
10. Click the Done button to close Workshop and return to the Windows Desktop
Note: If the backup you are restoring spans over multiple disks, follow the on-screen instructions for each disk carefully.
