Problem: When the computer starts up in the morning, the License Server is missing from the windows Task Bar, and when attempting to open up Shortcuts it comes up with the following error message:
"License Server Could Not Be Contacted"
Solution: 1. Hit the windows Start button (or hold down Ctrl and then press Esc)
2. Select Run
3. In the path type Regedit and hit OK
4. Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
5. Select Software
6. Select Microsoft
7. Select Windows
8. Select Current Version
9. Select Run
10. On the right-hand side of the screen you need to add in a new String Value for ShortCuts License Server, to do this simply right mouse click anywhere on the right hand side of the screen
11. Select String Value
12. Type in Shortcuts LicenseServer and press Enter
13. Double click on the new String Value
14. In the Value Data field type in the following path C:\Shortcuts\LicenseServer.exe and press Enter
Note: the “Shortcuts” folder may be called “Shortcuts2000” on your computer, you may check this by doing the following:
• Double click on My Computer from your Desktop • Double click Local Disk (C:) • In this directory you should see the Shortcuts folder name
15. Close down the regedit screen |
